On December 20, 2010, Chisinau hosted the International Conference "Experiences, perspectives and improvement of methods of local governmental budgeting in Central and Eastern European Countries", within the Project “Good governance in Chisinau - introduction of performance budget in the capital of Moldova”.
The project is financially supported by the CEI/KEP Programme and is co-financed by the Polish assistance programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, being implemented by the Cooperation Foundation PAUCI (Poland) in partnership with Business Consulting Institute.
The Project aims to promote and implement the performance budget within Chisinau Municipality, based on the assessment of the current financial system and the local budgeting process in Moldova.
The purpose of Conference was to present the results achieved in the first stage of the project (2010) and to establish the activities in the second stage (2011), in which the Municipality will benefit of the Polish, Ukrainian and Georgian experience.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Finance, of the Embassy of Poland in Moldova, of Chisinau City Hall, NGOs and by experts from Poland, Ukraine and Georgia.
