Launching of the project “Promoting the innovative use of remittances in productive rural investments”
On Wednesday, July 21st, 10:00, in the Conference Room of the Government Building (Nicolare Iorga st., 21, Chisinau), will take place the conference regarding the launching of the project “Promoting the innovative use of remittances in productive rural investments”.
The project is financially supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and is being implemented by the Business Consulting Institute (Republic of Moldova) together with ProRuralInvest (Republic of Moldova) and the Fund for Economic Development and European Integration (Romania).
The project aims to develop the entrepreneurial spirit and managerial qualities of returned immigrants and citizens who receive remittances, in order to increase the ratio of remittances going towards investments.
The target groups of the project are: members of the families which receive remittances, usually people from rural areas, and returned immigrants. The project is being implemented in the Republic of Moldova, the target zone covering the central region, which includes 12 rayons (Anenii Noi, Călăraşi, Criuleni, Dubăsari, Hânceşti, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Rezina, Străşeni, Şoldăneşti, Teleneşti, Ungheni, including small towns and rural localities in these rayons).
This project will familiarize the local public administration and remittances receivers with the opportunity of launching a new business, thus creating new jobs by developing entrepreneurial and managerial skills and redirecting remittances from current consumption to productive investment.
The event will be attended by mass media, officials of the central administration, local public administration of 1st and 2nd level, from the central region, and members of the civil society.
